ABOUT

Tri-Mountain offers a unique opportunity to explore a life-changing mountain experience in a completely natural environment. We are an out-post facility offering a full service campground nestled on 448 acres among three mountains in Ellijay, GA, close to the foothills of the Appalachian Trail. We have developed over 15 miles of trails, two fish stocked lakes, each equipped with fishing and swimming docks, creeks with multiple waterfalls, and abundant wildlife of all kinds. Conveniently located within a little more than an hour’s drive north of Atlanta.

Our goal is to partner with charitable organizations and individual families to create productive and healthy children today, while building a foundation toward success for tomorrow. Through successful partnerships and collaborations, we encourage our youth to live healthy lifestyles and give back to their community. Research shows that during periods of idleness and boredom, kids are vulnerable to peer pressure, violence and other risky activities. The risks are even higher for children from disadvantaged circumstances. We minimize those risks by engaging young people in activities with positive adult role models and peers, enabling them to learn powerful life skills.

Children with serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges also have the opportunity to explore a unique total mountain experience. Kids build camaraderie and friendships that will last a lifetime, in addition to support systems that will see them through their hard times back at home which often include hospital visits and ongoing treatments. We embrace individual attention and experience as well as group participation. We also encourage parental input and suggestions, in our goal to fulfill our objective for the best positive experience within the unique capabilities of the child.

We feel very fortunate and gratified that Camp Twin Lakes has chosen to partner with us in our joint effort in promoting and achieving our respective goals. We are just beginning our endeavor, they are proven leaders in this charitable field, their collaboration is especially important in the sometimes difficult task of planning and implementing programs at our facility.

REVIEWS

I have gone to Tri-Mountain Retreat on several occasions both recreationally and while leading groups of teens for overnight leadership retreats with Camp Twin Lakes. This site is a true gem, hidden away from the busyness of everyday life. The facilities are top notch, providing a great pavilion with power, running water, a beautiful stone fireplace, and a kitchen area for easy outdoor cooking. It also provides a his and hers bathhouse with toilet and shower to make the outdoor living just a little easier. These features only enhance the facility and are built in such a way that they still fit the scenery and do not detract from the feeling of being in nature. While the camp site itself is top-notch, there are also great trails for hiking with a lake perfect for swimming and fishing. The trails are all well maintained and provide fantastic views of the North Georgia mountains. This is a true outdoor paradise. I can't wait to get another group together and return!

This is a truly magical spot that is fueled by a mixture of life long dreams, a passion for children, and a strong desire to connect with nature. "Uncle Bob" obviously has a heart for serving children and his greater community. Tri-Mountain is such a great place to either introduce children or reconnect them with the great outdoors. I can't recommend the Tri-Mountain Retreat enough. There's no better word to describe it then OUTSTANDING.

We had a wonderful week long camp here with around 20 people. The bathrooms and showers are really nice, potable and tasty drinking water, gorgeous, clean spring fed lake with canoes and paddle boards provided, a very nice kitchen and hearth, large fire pit, beautiful streams, creeks and endless hiking trails.

We just completed our camps and we could not be happier with the Tri-Mountain Retreat site for our camps. We all enjoyed the lake with stand-up paddle boards, canoes, fishing and swimming. The forrest are lush and nature abounds, wonderful for healing and feeding the soul. Uncle Bob has been wonderful to work with allowing us the freedom to utilize the property for our many activities and processes. I am Hawkeye Jay, Founder and Director of Mountain Wisdom Camps. We are so excited to be having our week long wilderness camps at Ti-Mountain Retreat! Uncle bob has welcomed us and has been great to work with. This is one of the most beautiful properties in North Ga. with two spring fed lakes, 12 miles of hiking trails with great views and a wonderfuly equipped outdoor kitchen. It has the amenities we need and is still rustic and natural.Tri-Mountain Retreat is a perfect place for fun, healing and adventure. We look forward to a long relationship for years to come serving our youth.
